Nobody stands alone

Peer Support Program

A structured connection to trained peer mentors who understand the emotional, practical, and social realities of limb loss through lived experience.

Connection after limb loss

Lost Limb Riders connects amputees, people with limb difference, and their families with community and peer support. Support may include one-to-one mentorship, group connection, practical perspective, resource navigation, and participation in community activities.

Who it serves

Adults with acquired or congenital limb loss or limb difference, people preparing for a scheduled amputation, family members and caregivers, and minors with parent or guardian consent.

What to expect

After a voluntary intake and consent process, the program reviews the request and works toward an appropriate trained peer connection. Contact may happen by phone, video, an approved visit, public meeting, or group gathering.

Your choice matters

Participation is voluntary. Personal information is handled as confidential program information, and connection begins only with consent.

Peer support has clear boundaries

Peer mentors are not acting as doctors, therapists, counselors, emergency responders, lawyers, or financial advisers. The program does not provide medical diagnosis or advice, clinical mental-health treatment, legal advice, financial management, or emergency medical services.

If you are in immediate danger or experiencing an emergency, call 911. For a mental-health or suicide crisis in the United States, call or text 988.

Want to help someone else?

Peer mentors and program volunteers are prepared, screened when the assignment requires it, trained, and assigned through the organization’s controlled volunteer process before direct participant service.
